Hi, and welcome to my site!  I started this as an educational resource to share what I do as an aquatic animal and wildlife veterinarian.  It's a challenging, but very rewarding career. I hope to inspire others, particularly bright, young minds who want to know more about ocean life and what they can do to help. Together, we can heal ocean life!

A bit about me - yes, Lara Croft is my real name.  It was on my birth certificate long before Tomb Raider ever became a video game and movie franchise.  I wanted to be an aquatic animal veterinarian since I was a teenager.  As an undergraduate at Tufts University I had the opportunity to intern at the New England Aquarium in the Animal Medical Center. That's when I got truly hooked on marine animal medicine.

I went to veterinary school at University of Florida.  After I graduated I worked in small animal and emergency medicine at Alameda East in Denver, Colorado.   I went on to do a residency in Aquatic Animal Medicine at University of Florida.  I've been a veterinarian at Sea World Orlando since 2007.

I love my job!!  I get to work with amazing animals, dedicated and talented co-workers, and to make a difference for injured wildlife.
